The older four piece had a shelf live of five years. Did not know about the newer three piece.

As told to me by a Titleist rep. several years ago, solid core golf balls stored at ROOM TEMPERATURE have a long shelf life. So I would move them out of the garage and find a spot inside the house.

Over the years I have had stretches where I have not been able to play that much. And because of that I have had golf balls sit in my closet sometimes for a couple of years. I have never had any issues with quality and performance on golf balls that have been sitting on the shelf for a while. Maybe after 5+ years you may have issues? But my personal experience says you won’t have a problem.

I agree with Barry M! So true...I keep my Pro V's in an egg carton in my closet. I only pull 1/2 dozen out when I go play so as not to keep in temperatures either too hot or cold.

Best way to store the Pro V1x is somewhere that my wife won't find them.

I think storing golf balls at room temperature in your house would be ideal. I have a friend who had at least 15 dozen ProV1X’s and it took him about four years to use all of them. He stored them in a closet during that time period. There was no loss of distance or spin or any type of degradation. If stored properly, the shelf life of premium golf balls is probably 5 - 6 years.

Nothing to worry about. There will be no flat spot and storage at 30 to 90 degrees isn't going to hurt the ball. Just like your clubs, don't store them for a long period of time in the trunk of your car. If you play in extreme cold, keep an extra ball in your pocket and alternate them for each shot. Extreme cold can also effect the shot performance of clubs, as shafts and clubface will not flex as they would under moderate temps.
If you play in extreme heat, I'm jealous. Get some of those little cocktail umbrellas to shade your ball until you can hit it, but finish the cocktail first.

Hey! I would check out this article that talks about temperature and how it can effect the golf balls! I don't think it talks about flat spotting at all but I am not sure that would happen but could be wrong!
