Hole #17 today my friend made his first eagle and wanted to save the ball but was using a practice ball sure enough he switched it with a prov1 to remember it with always use a titleist ball.

The Ball Plant 3 tour is amazing. The process to make golf balls was fascinating and the attention to details throughout the entire process made me wonder why a dozen balls doesn't cost more. If you are in the New Bedford area, it is worth the time to arrange to get a tour. Why can we not get the Team Titleist marked balls with the aim line? Is this possibly a option in the future or am i just missing them when i try to order.

Left Dash vs. Left Dot Testing

Attached is my first test with P wedge and 7 iron with 718 AP3s. My swing is rusty at the moment as I haven't swung a club in months. But This is my first initial testing of the current left dash vs. left dot. My initial thoughts, left dot is slightly longer in carry with a higher ball speed although my club head speed was a bit higher with left dot. P wedge 0.6 higher and 7i 2.3 mph higher. My AOA is a bit flat but during my initial testing it was a lot higher when I haven't swung a club for so long (a tendency I'm working to fix).

I'm sure I will get rip apart for my awful swing but I figured i shared some initial data. I will redo this test once again. I will then conduct this test on course when I get some time.

One thing is for sure --- a switch away from the current balls back to balata balls would take care of the distance issue that is currently the subject of a proposed roll back in distance.

It’s interesting how something so small can have such a big impact on distance, spin, control, and feel. Some players swear by soft-feel balls for better control around the greens, while others prefer distance-focused balls that maximize power off the tee. What’s even more surprising is how much difference a “simple” ball change can make in consistency. I’ve seen players switch models and suddenly notice better control on short game shots or improved rollout on drives—without changing anything else in their swing.

It also raises a fun question: do we really choose the right golf ball for our playing style, or do most of us just stick with whatever we’re used to or find easily?

Would love to know:

Do you play with a specific type of golf ball or just whatever is available? Have you ever noticed a real performance difference between brands? Do beginners underestimate how important the right ball selection is?

I have gone through two ball fittings with Titleist, and the ProV1x was the recommended ball. They are not cheap, but I’m not going to spend a lot for clubs, and not use the best ball for my game. It’s been said many times, but it is the one piece of equipment used on every shot.

My favorite Titleist golf ball is the Pro-V1x left dash. It is so forgiving and less spinny for my swing.

I keep going back to the Pro V1, it just feels the most consistent for me tee to green. I tried the left dash for a bit and it was solid off the driver, but I missed a bit of that greenside control.
If I’m not using that, I’ll sometimes switch to something like the TM TP5x when I want a slightly firmer feel. Honestly though it mostly comes down to what matches your swing, took me a while to settle on one.

Those ProV1 and ProV1x with the small TT logo by the Titleist script were already produced and boxed in a quantity based on demand. I am pretty sure there is no method for taking completed balls back into the assembly process to add AIM lines. Add the complexity of multiple AIM designs and the demand becomes even less so you would basically create a situation where you were customizing for each individual order, a process that would impact the current assembly and drive up cost. That’s my take on the situation. Since comments here are rarely from Titleist employees, you might head up to New Bedford and take the Ball Plant 3 tour and ask them personally. It’s worth the trip!

Yes they are underrated... It is the one piece of equipment you use on every shot. But I would like to point out that with the cost of clubs, bags, Green Fees/Club Memebrships., etc. - the golf ball is the least expensive item we purchase.

So why not splurge on the one piece of equipment needed on every shot!!!

And yes play the same ball for consistency shot to shot, round to round.

i just received my 4 boxes of the ProV1 AIM Enhanced golf balls. these balls are better than i thought they would be. alot better than having to draw a line on every ball. Great job Titleist.

Whatever gets you the tools you need. Proving there is a market out there.

Between retirement and a cable system with more than 82 channels with nothing on, I’m comfortable adding alignment lines on a dozen balls at a time to pass the time.
