Your experience is real to you, can’t blame you to consider moving.

Just note that recent heads from all vendors that are fusing carbon fiber bodies to titanium faces experience failure rates not seen previously. The term jail break on early models from another OEM might have well been called jail broken. It would be useful to get data beyond anecdotal reports of all brands. Unfortunately, not likely.

Maybe the local Titleist rep can get you updated to a TSi-4 replacement and see if that improves longevity.

I noticed this discussion because I searched topic from internet. I have bubbled 2 TS4 heads. First last about a year, second (replacement) only 9 holes and 2 range sessions. Now third head (replacement) is on its way but im thinking about to sell it and change to another manufacturers driver because Im not trusting Titleist driver anymore. Replacement of the head has allways took 1-2 months and if it happens middle of summer there is no way to get new driver because delivery times/custom build times are nowadays 5-6 weeks. Saddly I have used Titleist drivers at very beginning of my playing career from 975D to my lates TS4 and never have any problem with them besides these two TS4s during last summer.

I have had a TS2 for over a year now and I play 80-100 rounds a year. No problems. With my club head speed of 88 and ball speed somewhere around 100 I suspect (or hope anyway) I will never have this issue. A 120 club speed with ball speeds over 170 is crazy fast and my guess is an "off center" strike with those speeds might be stressful to that driver. It would be interesting to see some results from controlled machine swings if those types of speeds could increase the probability of risking issues if you have multiple off center strikes. Having said that, I would be disappointed as well I did indeed have those kinds of speeds and crack my driver.

Probably should ask this question in a email but I own a ts 2 driver used for about a year bought the new tsi2 from rodger Dunn it got stolen so I went back to using my ts2 and like my third round back to using it I got a hump on the crown just like you see in the picture from the first post. Titleist says they no longer have ts2 drivers available but I would have to pay for a upgrade how much would that be? Or if I showed proof of purchase of me buying the new tsi2 in the last year would titleist not make me pay for the upgrade. Thankyou

So, you hear about pros playing the same driver for a long time. Usually have some extras but always rely on their “gamer”. I wonder why they rarely have cracked heads? Could it have something to do with how far off the center sweet spot it is hit? Not a problem I will ever have to worry about with my ball speed.

I wonder if the people who cracked or had bubbles on the head bought them after they were demo clubs? I am on my third or fourth TS3 head and I've had a TS3 driver since 2018. Every head I have had has been either bought new or sent in to Titleist. Each head should last about a year if you are some who golfs everyday and if not it should last even longer. I cracked my first head in June 2020 swinging about 115mph and 173 mph ball speed. Dented another head due to hitting a ball that was basically a rock, and I have recently cracked another head swinging about 120 mph and about 180 mph ball speed. They're great golf clubs but can only last so long.

Whoa! Glad to know I am not the only one who experienced this. The crown cracked on my TS3, which I bought back in March of 2020 before the pandemic hit. So while I have been playing more regularly during the summer up till now, like most people probably, it wasn’t getting much use during the shutdown. Fortunately, Golf Galaxy is sending it back to Titleist for me to have it replaced. Only drawback is they don’t know how long it could take, but said it could be up to four weeks. As for what other people reported, I can confirm very similar experiences. During the early part of the summer, as golf courses were starting to open up in my area, I hit a range ball a little high on the face, and noticed a “scratch” and a slight indentation on top of the crown. As annoying as that was, I attributed it to minor wear and tear. Fast forward to late September, and again I hit one high on the face, and noticed the “bubble” some commenters noticed. However for me, it looked and felt more warped. Still, I hit one more ball to see if it was usable, and lo and behold, that minor indentation became a 1” to 1.5” crack. Now, I believe that “scratch” earlier in the season, was actually a crack all along because that “scratch” expanded in alignment with the crack. Disappointed it happened because I love my TS3. But hey Titleist, if you run out of TS3 driver heads at 9.5*, I’ll gladly take a TSi3 at the same degree. (I would be curious if Titleist ever moves on to using carbon fiber crowns.)

and very strange to see a gap in the ferrule. I have seen this over time on an iron but not a driver. Did you get this club from an authorized Titleist dealer/shop? Take it back to them so they can contact Titleist customer service. If this was a private seller on eBay, might be a copy. Hope not. Hope all works out for you.

You should be able to take it to any authorized dealer and they can contact Titleist to have it shipped back for inspection. And if they find out that it wasn't abused or damage under normal playing conditions, then they should take care of it.

I have never had an issue with Titleist customer service. They are top notch and I had an issue with one of my drivers (rattle inside), sent it back and got a new one the next week.

I have had a TS3 for about a year and a half with no issues. Just bought a TS2 that I have been playing for about five months and have one coming that I won on a game. Never had an issue with any of them. All still look and preform great. Love the extra forgiveness of the TS2 once I got over what it looks like at address.

I just appears that way because 90% of TS drivers we sell are TS2 or TS3. There is a very tiny percentage of issues it's just the overall volume of players.

Hell Allan.It seems to me like an inordinate amount of TS2 andTS3 drivers seem to be having quality control issues, as opposed to the TS1 and TS4 and the prior generation 917 series.

Are there more QC issues with these drivers, or is it just me?

i had the same thing happen to TS3 twice, as well as three broken evenflow t11000 white x-stiff shafts. Titleist sent a replacement shaft as it was the first thing to break, then same thing happened again teed of the 6th hole at my club and the head went flying off down the fairway. they sent another shaft the same then the began to bubble the sent a new head and about one month later the head bubbled again. at this point they said no more replacements they would give me a refund and be done with it. my local pro who i bought from convinced them to send me a TS4 head a week after it came out before giving me a refund. i played 1 stroke play round, two ambrose rounds(36 hole tournament) and 9 holes within 2 weeks. the head was amazing the thing was a rocket sadly the shaft broke a third time before i could get anymore time in with the head and Titlleist refunded my money and that was the end of that. its a shame as i have played nothing but titleist drivers since the 910 first came out at the TS3&4 were amazing drivers and i loved them in the bag

Same thing happened to me this week. Sounds identical with the bubbling. I didn’t crack the hosel. I bought it through my pro shop. What was the outcome. I only have had it for a month.

I was just at Golftown and asked for xstiff lowspin shaft to try with low spin heads. They chose the hurdles smoke for me with an epic flash head to start. I felt like I ripped the first few but got terrible numbers and ball speed. I after a dozen balls or so I was warmed up and went after it. The shaft snapped in half about 1/2 inch above the make specific insertion point. The h ad went flying into the screen! The guy working asked if I hit the ground. The I said no I hit it flush, it travelled 297. I was wired out and l ft shortly after not wanting to be blamed for the break.

Ps- I found this thread when googling the shaft breaking. I joined to add to the thread.

I have actually had this happen with three TS3 drivers. The first two Titleist replaced no problem and the third time just happened a couple of days ago so I am hoping for the same treatment once again.

However, I would like to know why this happens. I do have a fast swing speed, but I can't imagine it's up to Justin Thomas's level or anything like that. Also I don't have any of the "dummy marks" referred to from hitting the top of the club face. I would have to think that if I'm going through them like I have then the tour players have to be as well.

I have a TS3 that I purchased in December and found this thread after noticing the same “Ridge” develop on my driver. Any insight into the root cause of this? Is it related to fatigue, impact location, materials, or something else?

Sounds fishy, doesn't it? And no further response from any of them?

Is there a real issue? Are the clubs legit? If so, has Titleist looked into it?

I had the good fortune to get fit before the public, so I've had mine for just about a year. Starting with the shaft from my 917, it wasn't any better. After fitting I got one of those cards with 3 mph/13 yards more. Buying off the rack may well be a waste of money/overly disappointed. But wild horses couldn't pull the TS from my fingers at this point.

I have a TS2 and I'm pretty sure the face is cracked. The ball is doing some really strange stuff even on center face drives. I haven't cracked a driver in years, but I'm confident Titleist will make it right. They always have in the past.

Late on my update...I took my driver back to my local shop and they sent it back to Titleist, after about 10 days a new head arrived, super easy. Really pleased with Titleist Customer service!
