Golf clubs aren't supposed to sit and look pretty, they're to be used. Be careful on the range with balls with sand on them, and even practicing. Like Chris said above, friction will cause any coating to wear off, exposing the metal. They do look pretty when they are new though!

I just ordered two nickel Vokeys to replace my two raw ones. Raws are a bit “pricey” and I assumed the nickels would be a reasonable replacement so I am not unhappy that I may get some rust. Anyone know how to get rid of the plating entirely? (Joking)

Thanks guys, appreciate the feedback. I have only played perhaps 10 rounds worth since getting them so was surprised to see rust spots appearing so soon after getting wet.

The nickel is a coating, and the sole of the club takes a lot of abuse. Once the nickel coating wears through, it will expose the steel and will begin to rust.

If you play with them enough and diminish the covering which is usually a nickel plating in chrome you will expose the raw metal which will rust. This is normal.
