Don't know why you're so against Club Champion. They offer virtually every manufacturer and every shaft in virtually any combination, along with the best tech fitting systems available. Great for you for being loyal, but your rant make you sound narrowminded.

Choice is what makes America great. You’ve noted the upside of CC. Downside? Hitting off mats indoors is my primary objection.
Haven’t stopped by the strip mall CC that just opened in town, but have heard there are assembly fees so the custom combinations are more expensive than a Titleist factory custom assembly.
While I do have a strong loyalty to Titleist products and using the Premier fitter 55 miles away outdoors, there is nothing wrong in paying a premium for an indoor fitting that has your confidence. Regardless of the price paid or the conditions of the fitting, the right choice is the one you feel good about at the end of the process.

The markup at Club Champion is over the top, nothing against the guys and the system, it's the corporate machine that hammers you on upgraded shafts/fitting. They've had to drop the Full Bag fitting in Tampa to $100 just to get people in the door. They do offer a great experience though.

I had a bad experience at CC - not with the fitting but I ordered the club from them ( 1st Gen Phantom 5.5) and it came in with a ding from bending , was a 35” heavy which they cut down to fill my ordered 34” and left the stickers on the shaft - just not a good feeling so in the end - only Titleist from now on

Sorry Fred, that comment was directed to Brock L. I like to give my business to local certified fitters who represent many manufacturers. I also sometimes use a titleist product specialist who lives in our community who does fittings on local ranges. Local support is the key.

I prefer outdoor fittings off the grass, where I can get real feel and see ball flight, as opposed to hitting indoors off a mat and into a screen.

Feeling the turf interaction is big for me. Can’t replicate that on a mat.

And I agree, I like seeing the ball flight.

Unless you're a tour player, doesn't Titleist offer enough shaft options, without going to overpriced and overhyped Club Champion?

Went by my favorite Titleist account store to order a Breezer Bucket hat for the summer based on Dale's recommendation. Introduced them to the hat that they did not have in stock. Said they will carry them if they can get them and should sell. While I was there we were discussing Club Champion and how it is actually helping their business. They showed me an email that someone had sent them regarding a fitting they had gotten at CC for a driver, fairway and a hybrid. All three clubs shafts had been upgraded to high end shafts and they charged them full retail cost, rather than regular upcharges. The person was asking for assistance because he felt it was a little high at $2700 and that was with a $175 discount off the fitting of $350. It is all about choices and if you are happy. With respect.

So why is this discussion under Ball Fitting, instead of Club Fitting?

Doing a club fitting outside hitting off turf is simply the best. I have no experience with Club Champion, but I’ll continue to seek Titleist fitting events that are conducted outside. I have experienced a full bag fitting at Oceanside...that is the ultimate. However, there are lots of options depending on how much you want to spend. And I understand Club Champion is a good option.

I think it’s fair to say that you can’t paint fitters with the same brush based on what club fitting company they work for.

Experience, customer service, knowledge will vary for each company in my opinion.

10 years ago, png and Titleist were the prominent sellers of individual irons. The other OEMs primarily sold 6 and/or 7 iron sets. Getting fit is more commonplace now.
One OEM vendor formerly known for setting a high bar for pricing now offers a low price option. Alas a shaft change suitable for a senior play like myself (+$100) puts them in the price range of the T300.
The custom club fitters with their “infinite” combinations might be offering their fitters a cut based on the upgrades. Or maybe I’m naive enough to think a $1000 driver or $400 for an iron is not common. I have no qualms with the quality of the fitting, but at the prices I hear, value is hard for me.

I really haven’t heard anything good about Club Champion. I have a place I trust.
