910D3 setting - pulling the ball

  1. Hi I was recently fit for a 9.5 degree 910D3. Since being fit on the A2 setting, my swing has changed and have been hitting straight pull shots about 15 yards left of target. This has been an issue with the driver only and not with my other clubs. If I flatten the lie angle, say to the A1 setting, would this likely promote a shot that starts more to the right? Thanks J

If the ball starts left and goes straight, then the clubface and the swing direction are pointing left.

This could be as simple as you are aligned left, or swinging over the top, this is not a club setting problem.

You might find some setting that will produce a fade to compensate for the pull.

I wouldn't consider changing the setting as the best thing to do, I would think the best thing to do is hit the range and get swinging or aiming in the right direction.

Yes sir!  I would take it to the the extreme, B-1, first.  Then work your way back to A-1 if you need to.  RC

  4. Awesome stuff. My issues were not swing related. Tweaked set up and ball position slightly and am having really nice consistency with the B1 setting.

Swing first -- all you players need to realize that will be the biggest influence on ball flight. This sure sounds like a classic "over the top" swing that we as instructors see a great deal of the time.  I see so much on here about being fitted and the next thing is you want to start changing the shaft or the setting or the length or.... The fitting options Titleist provides us are fantastic, but nothing will trump the kind of swing you make.

The absolute best combination is that of a good fitting by a very knowledgeable fitter who is also a good instructor. He will know both sides of the equation.  He can tell you and show you with video how these things work together.  Good swings with a good fitting.... and you will be on your way.
