  1. Hello, I am interested in the utulity iron but i dunno which shaft to put on it. I want to get the 2 iron in a steel shaft. I currently swing my 7 iron about 92 mph and carry distance between 175 to 187. I really dream of a 2 iron in forever as I was never a fan of fairway woods. I dont like the feeling of shafts weighting 125 g , which i think is just killing my swing. I have a quick swing with a slow takeaway which take me with a moderate rythm. I tried Kbs, true tremper and project x but I really dont know which to take and i cant hit the club, because i can only order it since im a left. Please let me know of your recommendations and suggestions that i would try with a 6 or 7 iron of titleist prior to the order. thank you

I'd recommend getting the same shaft you know you like in your oirons. Your carry is the same as mine and I really like the KBS C-Taper for the way it feels. I got similar results from the Project X, but didn't like the feel so much.

Fred ... I completely agree with BA and Chuck ...go to a fitting and have them use the same shaft as in your irons. You will have a similar feeling and similar swing weight -- knowing when to "release the trigger" in your swing.

I went for fittings on the T-MB's as well and we felt the best options were either the same shaft as my irons or one that was a touch lighter with a higher launch characteristic.
  5. What I forgot to mention is that I am on the merge of changing my irons which are regular flex. That being said I cant really rely on my current shaft which are about 11 years old. I know that I like the true temper dynamic gold S 300. The fact that i live in Canada doesnt give me a good shot at the fitting options that Titleist offers. Although, I plan on buying the AP2 in addition to the t-mb, as I really need to refresh my bag.

Hi Fred, ... as you know then, in Canada the T-MB program only comes in the longer irons (2 - 5 irons). I'm in Canada too so I understand the process involved. I really liked the T-MBs!

If you are moving from a regular flex shaft to a stiffer shaft, then I really encourage you to go to a fitting! The T-MB's come with the new Dynamic Gold AMT shafts as standard equipment. I liked them. Your Titleist fitter will have them in different shafts for you to test and hopefully with the Trackman for better data feedback.

Fred - whereabouts in Canada do you live?

If you are moving from a regular flex shaft to a stiffer shaft, then I really encourage you to go to a fitting! I d o believe that some of the fitters have left handed clubs for testing purposes. Fred - whereabouts in Canada do you live? Maybe send me a friend request and we can chat offline too.
