  1. Hey Guy´s,

i have one little question, i am searching for a new Driver. My old SLDR is pretty broke.

What do you think? M1 2016 Model vs Titleist 917D2.

So crazy! I actually play the 2016 m1 right now and yesterday I demoed the 917D2 during a practice round to see how they matched up.

I have to say, I LOVE the 917D2. Titleist has done an excellent job with the look, sound, and feel of this driver. Even more, I hit 12 of 14 fairways with it yesterday (as opposed to 4 of 14 with the m1), so the performance is there too.

The m1 is still a little longer (I was anywhere from 5-10 yards longer with the m1), however, I just really enjoyed the playability of the 917D2. I'm STRONGLY considering switching or at the very least exploring a different shaft in the m1.

This is coming from a purely performance standpoint. I love everything Titleist, but I go with what works. I tried the 917F2 and 816H1 and still ended up with the 2017 m2 models of both of those, so I'm not just shilling for Titleist. I'm willing to give up 5 yards to consistently be in the fairway like that. I ended up shooting +4 76 (I'm about a 9 handicap) simply because the driver performed well. It's definitely worth a look.
  3. Thank you for response. I own a Titleist 917F2 and a 816H1 and must say both are beats from the deck and from the tee.

Being my bag is all Titleist, I would say go for a Titleist driver. Would recommend a 917D2 (great distance with forgiveness in a full 460cc pear profile. Offers more forgiveness and a slightly higher launch than the D3). But in all fairness to yourself I would recommend going to a fitter and trying both. Go to certified fitter and not a box store retail clerk. A certified fitter will try different shafts in both heads to ensure that you get the maximum performance from the clubs. In the end I hope that you will choose the Titleist club. What I like about the Titleist drivers are the accuracy and consistency. I am very happy with my set up and have played the following brands in the past before settling on Titleist equipment: TM, png, Wilson Staff, miz, Calloway.
