how would a 910H with a DGX100 compare to a 2-iron flight wise?

  1. I love my 2-iron.  It's my go to club when my swing is a little off and I need to keep it in play.  I find it easy to hit and accurate as I can hit it fairly low and I don't have to worry about it going off line very much or get it up in the air fairly well if I need to. (220 to 240 approx)   I have a 910d3 and 910f with rip 80 x's (that I love btw) that I was fitted for recently where I briefly hit the 910H but only a few times and they didn't have a steel shaft on hand or a 90+ gram xs for that matter so I gave up on it quickly.  My swing speed with the driver is about 110 to 112 depending on my mood.  :)  Every hybrid i've tried goes left, even the old taylor rescue TP with an x100.  My mishits are usually a little high in the face from getting steep rather than toe or heel, I probably miss off the slight heel twice a round on average.

I guess the thing that I seem to be missing out on is the ability to hit out of light rough or good lies in regular rough at that distance and perhaps a little stopping power into greens compared to a long iron?  Is that it?

Can you hit low cuts with the 910H like a long iron?

Is the higher part of the face a complete dead zone?

Will the Dynamic Gold shaft make it play and feel more iron like perhaps?  Why would I want graphite in a club I want to hit a specific distance and control the trajectory?

(I live in Kansas City so if there is a way I could try one with a stiff steel shaft at least I'd really be interested in doing so)

    Thanks in Advance,

I played a 2-iron for he longest time and I love one.

That being said, I have a 909H with a DGX100 in it and I absolutely love it.  I can murder it off of the tee and I can play with it a little more than the 2-iron and still keep control with the ball flight.  My experiences with the 2-iron where that I had to hit it straight and that was it.  My 3-iron I can work the ball a little, but the 2-iron when I started working the ball I lost control quickly.  The 2H I can start working the ball and still keep control.

    Hope this helps.

Currently I have 2 shafts for you 910H, a very heady weight stiff tip Matrix Ozik hM2 LT (107g) and a Dynamic Gold X100 SL. The heavy weight graphite is nice because it's more online with the weight of my irons shafts. Gives a nice flight and I can work the ball left to right which is a first with a hybrid for me. The steel I bought for more control but I have yet to really give it a goo chance because the graphite is working so well. IMO give a 100g + graphite shaft a chance first if you still don' t like it try the steel shaft.
