I still can’t believe it actually happened and to make the whole thing even more crazy, this was my second time ever playing a full 18 holes! We were celebrating my husband’s birthday with a round at the beautiful Granby Ranch Golf Course in Colorado. I’m still very new to the game, so I wasn’t expecting anything more than just a fun day out.

When we got to Hole 12, I was hitting from the red tees, about 66 yards out, and my husband suggested I use my 58 degree wedge. I swung, no fancy expectations and we watched the ball land cleanly on the green, took a soft bounce, started rolling… and then it dropped straight into the hole. The guys we were playing with knew the course extremely well and said we won’t celebrate just yet because maybe it went off the backside, once we got over to the hole they told me to go check it out first, and when I walked up there was my ball, in the hole.

For a second, none of us said anything. I think we were all stunned. I just stood there in disbelief I mean, I’m a beginner! But there it was my first hole in one. I was jumping up and down celebrating. This has to be one of the most surreal moments I’ve ever experienced.
