Playing at my local course, Colbert Hills, in NE Kansas, it was a rainy day - soft greens allowing additional ball spin. I stepped onto hole #5, a 174 yard Par 3 that has a lot of undulation in the green and this time the pin was located near front of the green, so anything short would have rolled back the false front and anything long would have likely been a 3-putt. I’d done this shot hundreds of times and been close, but this time I hit a perfect shot with a slight draw and spin; it landed pin-high and spun back-left 6 inches and disappeared. After being close so many times, I thought there was no way.. but I pulled up to the hole and there it was in the jar. I thank the prime conditions and Titleist ProV1x ball for giving me a great shot with right spin for finally notching my first HOI at age 35.
