  1. I was invited to play in a tournament by a friend. The tournament was for the Utah Roofers Contractor Association, and neither of us are roofers. Due to lack of sign ups, they opened the tournament up and my friend signed us up. On a majority of the holes there were sponsors offering different games and prizes. On hole 8 at Eaglewood Golf Course in Utah, a 150 yard par 3, which is a recently renovated island green, the prize for a hole-in-one was a new car through a local GMC dealer. The hole was playing down hill 10-15 yards, so a perfect number for me to hit a smooth pitching wedge. After waiting on the tee box, I stepped up, hit a pure shot, and in the air called out, “that’s right at it, I think it could go in.” The ball landed 4 feet short of the flag and disappeared. Due to the angle of the sun the shadow of the flag was covering the cup, so from our vantage point we weren’t sure if it was in or not. We looked through a range finder and didn’t see a ball, I told the crowd around us, “I think it’s in” it’s a perfect number and I hit it well. Sure enough we hurried down to the hole and found my ball at the bottom of the cup. I’m not sure I’ll ever top that shot.
