Having a friendly round with my friend at our home course. Just talking about life, God, and golf. When getting up to the 8th hole we had a good 5-10 mph head wind and the yardage was 181 to the pin behind a bunker. Scott (my friend) hits a shot ends up short in the bunker. The bunker was normally considered ground under repair for the past month. However, today the bunker was resurfaced and had new fluffy sand. So I thought, “aim for the sand would be fun to try out the new bunker.” Grabbed a 7 iron (T-100) and decided to flight it out of the wind. I get up to the shot, hit dead center of the face, the exact flight I had imagined, landed before the hole by 6 paces and disappeared. My friend insisted that it went in, but I was so dead set that it rolled to the back of the green. Then the group behind us thought the same thing. We rushed in the cart and I told him to go around to the back of the green. Couldn’t find my ball. Ended up slowly going towards the hole. And. It. Was. IN!!!!! My first ever hole in one. Used a titleist T-100 7 iron and a titleist ProV1 number 4 with a black line. What a way to start The masters.
