Russell Henley Captures Fourth PGA TOUR Title

PGA TOUR | World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba

Titleist Brand Ambassador Russell Henley cruised to his fourth PGA TOUR title Sunday at Mayakoba, closing in 1-under 70 for a four-shot victory.

  • Henley, gaming a Pro V1x golf ball and full bag of Titleist equipment, opened the week with consecutive 63’s on his way to setting the tournament scoring record at 23 under par.
  • He made 25 birdies (T1) over the four days in Mexico while playing his first 58 holes bogey-free, getting up and down 15 consecutive times during that stretch.
  • Henley, 33, led the field in driving accuracy (78.6%) while finishing second in both Scrambling (90.5%) and One Putts (42).
  • Said Henley: “I just feel the consistency throughout my bag is just unbelievable. Every club that I’ve hit, I don’t feel like I’ve ever hit a ball that’s gone way farther than I thought or way shorter. The distance control (with my Pro V1x) is outstanding. The spin around the greens is outstanding.”

POWER’S STRONG PLAY CONTINUES WITH NEW PRO V1x

  • Last week’s winner in Bermuda, Seamus Power, earned his second consecutive top-3 finish since making the switch to the NEW 2023 Pro V1x golf ball three weeks ago at the CJ Cup.
  • Power’s T3 finish Sunday moved him to the top of the FedEx Cup standings and inside the Top 30 of the Official World Golf Ranking (29th), the highest position of his career.
  • Power who posted four rounds of 68 or better this week in Mexico, led the field (T1) in Greens in Regulation at 77.8% while finishing T6 in Driving Accuracy (75%).
  • On Saturday, Power made an ace (on the 151-yard par-3 eighth) and two hole-outs (one for eagle on the 350-yard par-4 11th, one for birdie from the greenside bunker on the par-4 14th) on his way to an 8-under 63. Over the last eight rounds, he is a combined 37 under par.
  • “It’s been excellent,” Power said of his NEW Pro V1x. “I was delighted trying it [the week before CJ Cup], tested all week, loved it. Played lots of golf with it and very, very happy with it.
  • “For me, it’s very visual,” he said. “When I swing and it comes off the face, if it comes out in the trajectory I feel it should, that’s a big positive for me, and that’s what I saw immediately.
  • “It felt great off the tee with a little bit extra heat. If anything, I under spin my irons, so I’ve got that little bit extra spin (moving to Pro V1x). I didn't give up anything around the green. I didn’t feel any noticeable difference with the noise off the putter face, so it was an easy change for me. Very excited about it.”
