I received a box of six balls - 2026 ProV1x Left Dash balls to sample. I am 67, a 7-handicap and have been playing golf since I was 12. ProV1x Left Dash is my regular ball that I try and play all the time. My thoughts about the 2026 balls:

I received them the next to last week in October and I live in southern Michigan which means this is right at the end of our golf season. My club closes on Nov. 1, although if the weather holds out, management will often open up the cart barn and as long as there is no frost in the ground, we are good to play. The first day I could get out and test the new balls I did in an 18-hole round with a few of my regular playing partners. I did not tell anyone I was playing these new balls, but on the ninth hole one of my partners said, "Man, you are really pounding the ball today." That statement was after I hit one about 275 yards off the tee - a bit longer than my average drive. So he noticed maybe a bit more length. And to be honest, I had not been playing Left Dash balls for the last few weeks of the season...my stash had run out and I was playing ProV1x balls. So there's that. Maybe the ball is a little longer. I noticed I was hitting the ball a bit higher with my longer irons...something I struggle with lately with not getting the ball up in the air. And it was windy here those last couple of weeks of October, and ball went into the wind very well. Around the green I didn't notice a lot of difference in spin, but I did notice in putting that I made a bunch more putts. I was able to get in four rounds with three of the balls and in those four rounds, I made three or four birdies each round with the new ball. And what is a real measure of success is that I only lost two balls in all of the leaves, so I was hitting them straight most of the time. I loved the feel of the balls and it confirmed to me that I am playing the right ball for my game. I really appreciate the consistency of the golf balls from Titleist and I love that Titleist gives average golfers a chance to sample something new and then ask for our feedback. Another reason to love Team Titleist.

Keep at it, Roger. Those of us here in SE MI have to get out while we can! Unfortunately I wasn't chosen this round for the proto's but there's always next season.

We would specifically love to hear about the following performance characteristics:

    Feel:

Putter - decent feel, medium in between hard/soft.

Wedges - nice feel off face, ball checked when needed.

Full shots - again nice feel, medium in between hard/soft.

    Flight:

    10 degree Titleist GT3 driver

Launch, Trajectory and Wind Performance - I did notice significant loss of distance on all clubs throughout bag. While I am guessing here, it's more than likely due to my slow swing speed. I however noticed consistent flight with all clubs that kept the ball "in play" more so than any ball I have played. While that is a big advantage - the lack of distance was a killer IMO.

Spin - short game control and stopping power was very decent - highly acceptable.

Distance & Consistency - See above comment.

Final comment - I just felt the overall performance is a very, very good product but IMO a ball for those with higher swing speeds.

I tried out the proto balls we received in New Mexico at the TT Open. I currently play left dash and I can definitely tell a difference in the short game spin around the green.
  6. I would love to test these out. I am a 13 year old jr golfer and would be honored to try these out!
  7. 40 years old, Right Handed, Male, 15.4 handicap and I play a mix between the Chrome Soft and the Bridgestone B X depending on season and conditions. I tend to hit with a strong fade off the tee, with a slight fade on my long irons.

    Overall Opinion:
If I'm being honest, these balls were just fine. They didn't seem to excel in any particular area, but they also weren't lacking in any particular area. I wish they had a little more 100 yd and in spin, but other than that they felt like a decent feeling control-based ball. I would potentially buy them at a $40 and under price point, but I don't consider these on the top level of other Premium Balls. I haven't played a titleist ball consistently since the NXT Tour S.

    Feel:
Putter - Had really good feel and feedback on putting. Put a lot of lag putts pretty close. Confident
Wedges - Felt good, not too firm, not too soft
Full Shots - I like my full shots to feel a little on the soft side. These were a little firmer than I would like.

    Flight:
    Launch: Mid launch
Trajectory: Seemed to be low spin and limited my fade/slice which was a good thing, but cost some distance
Wind Performance: Didn't play in too much windy conditions

    Spin:
Short Game Control: Less spin than I would like on 100 yds and in
Stopping Power: Stopping power was quite good with long iron shots into the green. 1 bounce and roll-out

    Distance and Consistency:
Off the Tee - Less Distance than my normal balls, but less spray and more control
Thru the bag - about 5 yards less

How does one get selected? Is it by those players who have a certain type of ball they use on their profile? I would love to test the new Left Dash as this is the ball I have been playing for years.
  9. Just started playing a “good” course so I am just realizing how important a good ball is, especially when I am finally starting to get birdie putts. I am having a hard time getting a good feel of my ball while putting. I have tried different Titleist balls but they all feel the same. I have not been selected for a proto test, but am very interested in reading the feedback on how these white box balls feel while putting. Also, any suggestions of balls that are currently on the market would be appreciated. I typically hit Pro V 1X off the tee.

Interesting that you say you hit a ProV1x from the tee. Do you switch balls during the play of a single hole? Not a problem if you play casually but will get you into rules infraction penalty if playing in a competitive situation. That said, putting feel for me is very different between ProV1, Prov1x, and AVX. I find it very difficult to switch between models and putt well, especially on longer putts. My recommendation would be stick with one ball model and work with it on long practice putts to improve your feel. Best wishes and hope you find what works best for you.
